Inventory System
Inventory System provides access to your inventory stocks using software application, barcode/RFID technology. Barcode or RFID technologies are attached to each item with a unique identification number to monitor and track incoming and outgoing items effectively. Though, modern inventory system also uses manual methods to verify actual inventory counts and items for validity purposes.
Barcode Technology
Barcode technology uses printed barcode stickers which are attached to the items. The barcode stickers are read by the software using barcode scanner devices. Using the barcode, the monitoring of items are fast compared to manual inventory counting. Barcode technology is commonly used in modern inventory system and mostly observed in supermarkets, convenience stores, and small stockrooms or warehouse.
RFID Technology
Radio Frequency Identification uses magnetic strips which are encoded with digital data. RFID usually are in the form of cards or stickers with either UHF or VHF. To read the data from the RFID, an RFID reader is used which matched the RFID cards or stickers. UHF RFID is used to read RFIDs in a close distance one at a time, while the VHF RFID is used to read multiple RFIDs at a wide area. RFID Technology in modern inventory systems is mostly used in large warehouses and manufacturing facilities.
